Dixie Glass History
In 1943, Mr. Gene Wiggington started Gulf Coast Glass at 2232 Market Street in Pascagoula, MS. Gulf Coast Glass was the only glass service business on the Gulf Coast from Mobile Al to New Orleans, LA. Mr. Wiggington built a reputable business based on quality products and quality service for the glass industry. Under the direction and leadeship of Mr. Wiggington, Gulf Coast Glass continued servicing theare until his retirement in 1956 when he sold the business to Homer (Red) Inebinet, a long time and dependable loyal employee.
Red Inebinet continued to operate the business in the same manner in which his mentor Mr. Gene Wigginton had taught him. In 1973 Red Inebinet resigned ownership and operations due to health issues and concerns. Mr. C.W. Downs purchased Gulf Coast Glass from Mr. Inebinet and renamed the business to Dixie Glass & Trim Shop. At this time Dixie Glass continued to offer services related to the glass industry but expanded to offer upholstery to the automotive and furniture industry. Mr. Downs operated the business until 1983 when Sonny Inebinet (Mr. Red's Brother) purchased the glass services side of the business and Mr. Downs opened Dixie Seat Cover next to Dixie Glass & Trim. At this time Dixie Glass & Trim became incorporated and is known and operated under Dixie Glass & Trim, Inc.

Sonny Inebinet owned and operated the business offering the Gulf Coast area with quality glass products and dependable services for the automotive, residential, commercial and industrial markets. Along with a positive can-do attitude and personable service he continued that tradition that local residents, industries and local business owners requiring glass services became accustomed to. Carl Herndon owner of Twin City Glass became partners with Sonny merging the two businesses together to service a larger customer base.
In 1983, Joe Westmoreland Jr., opened Westmoreland Glass in Pascagoula, MS following his fathers footsteps in Tupelo, MS. He owned and operated it until 1991. In 1991 Sonny had approached retirement. Sonny and Carl approached Joe with the opportunity to become partners with Carl Herndon and merge all three customer bases. Joe and Carl operated the business as partners until 1999 when Mr. Carl Herndon retired. Joe Westmoreland took over ownership and operations.
